Psalm 135
God is praised for his goodness, power and justice - The vanity of idols
Praise the Lord. Praise the name of the Lord; praise him, servants of the Lord,
you who stand in the house of the Lord, in the courts of the house of our God.
Praise the Lord, because the Lord is good; Sing praises to his name, because he is kind.
For the Lord has chosen Jacob unto himself, and Israel for his peculiar treasure.
For I know that the Lord is great and that our Lord is above all gods.
Whatever the Lord wishes he does in heaven and on earth, in the seas and all deeps.
makes the vapors to ascend from the ends of the earth; maketh lightnings for the rain; takes the wind from his storehouses.
Who smote the firstborn of Egypt, both man and beast;
that wrought signs and wonders among you, Egypt, upon Pharaoh and upon all his servants;
who struck many nations, and slew mighty kings:
Sihon king of the Amorites, and Og, king of Bashan, and all the kingdoms of Canaan;
and gave their land for an inheritance, an inheritance to his people Israel.
Thy name, O Lord, endureth for ever; and thy memorial, O Lord, through all generations.
For the Lord will judge his people and have compassion on his servants.
The idols of the nations are silver and gold, the work of men's hands;
have mouths, but they speak not; They have eyes but do not see;
have ears, but they hear not; nor is there any breath in their mouth.
Similarly the 18 they shall be those who make them, and all who trust in them.
O house of Israel, bless the Lord; O house of Aaron, praise the Lord;
O house of Levi, bless the Lord; I who fear the Lord, praise the Lord.
Zion Blessed be the Lord, who dwells in Jerusalem. Praise the lord.
