Psalm 33
The believer's joy in contemplating the works of God
Rejoice in the Lord, you righteous, for the righteous is good praise.
Praise the Lord with harp: sing unto him with the psaltery of ten strings.
Sing unto him a new song; play skilfully with a loud noise.
For the word of the LORD is right; and all his works are done with faithfulness.
He loves righteousness and justice; the earth is full of the goodness of the Lord.
By the word of the Lord were the heavens made, and all their host by the breath of his mouth.
He gathers the waters of the sea as a heap; sets the depth in storehouses.
Fear the Lord all the earth; fear-all the inhabitants of the world.
For he spoke, and it was done; He commanded, and it stood.
The Lord brings the counsel of the nations, nullifies the plans of the peoples.
The counsel of the Lord stands forever, the thoughts of his heart to all generations.
Blessed is the nation whose God is the Lord, the people he chose for his inheritance.
The LORD looketh from heaven; sees all the children of men;
of his dwelling upon all the inhabitants of the land,
the one that forms the heart of them all, who considereth all their works.
A king is not saved by his army crowd; a mighty man is not delivered by much strength.
The horse is a vain hope for victory; neither shall he deliver any by his great strength.
Behold the eyes of the Lord are on them that fear him, upon them that hope in his mercy;
to deliver their soul from death, and to keep them alive in famine.
Our soul waits for the Lord; he is our help and our shield.
For in him rejoices our hearts, because we have trusted in his holy name.
Let thy mercy, O LORD, be upon us, as we hope in thee.
