The words of the Bible

II TIMOTHY 3

Extreme corruption in recent times

But know this, that in the last days perilous times;

For men will be lovers of themselves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy,

unloving, unforgiving, slanderers, incontinent, fierce, haters of good,

traitors, headstrong, haughty, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God;

having a form of godliness but denying its power. Stay away from these also.

For of this sort are they which creep into houses, and lead captive silly women laden with sins, led away with divers lusts;

always learning but never able to come to the knowledge of truth.

Now as Jannes and Jambres withstood Moses, so do these also resist the truth: men of corrupt minds, reprobate concerning the faith.

will not, however, forward; because all will manifest their folly, as also it was of those.

Exortation to persevere in sound doctrine and to preach at all times (up to 4: 5)

But thou hast fully known my doctrine, conduct, purpose, faith, longsuffering, love, perseverance,

persecutions, afflictions, which to me at Antioch, at Iconium, at Lystra; what persecutions I endured! and all the Lord delivered me.

And indeed all that will live godly in Christ Jesus shall suffer persecution.

But evil men and impostors will go from bad to worse, deceiving and being deceived.

You, however, continue in what you have learned and you were assured of, knowing of whom thou hast learned them,

and that from childhood you have known the sacred writings which are able to make thee wise unto salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus.

All Scripture is inspired by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness;

that the man of God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work.
