Psalms 4
David prays to God in his distress Psalm of David for the chief singer; About Neginote
Answer me when I cry out, O God of my righteousness! In distress you gave me largesse; Have mercy on me and hear my prayer.
Children of men, how long will you turn my glory into infamy? How long will ye love vanity, and seek a lie?
Know that the Lord has separated to him who is pious; The Lord hears me when I cry to him.
Be angry and do not sin; Consult with your heart on your bed, and be silent.
Offer ye sacrifices of righteousness, and put your trust in the Lord.
Many say, Who will show us good? Lift up, O Lord, the light of your face upon us.
You have put more joy in my heart than theirs in the time when wheat and wine are multiplied to them.
In peace I will lie down and sleep, for you alone, Lord, make me dwell in safety.
